Pregnant for the first time in the Pacific Northwest. I have career goals (getting a Ph.D and teaching) that are on hold for the baby. Looked for a blog by someone else with my values around social & environmental justice & circumstances (bizarrely dysfunctional family, experience w class privilege and poverty, queer in a hetero relationship, feminist, etc.) & didn’t find one, so started my own! It’s very therapeutic. I highly recommend it.
There are many, many difficult times, god knows. If a person wants to stand on her own two feet, I recommend undertaking the care and feeding of something. It could be children, or it could be house plants, you know? By doing that you come to understand your own limitations. That's where it starts. Banana Yoshimoto
